Our Dental Hygienists

Our dental hygienists have an Associate's degree, which requires at least 2 years of dental hygiene training and a license from the state which is granted only after a board examination is passed.

Dental hygienists specialize in preventive dentistry, the first line of defense against tooth and gum disease. Our dental hygienists are experienced in all the procedures of dental hygiene, including cleaning, scaling, and deep scaling. They're also skilled in pedodontics (working with children), and give all patients personalized instruction for dental health care at home as well as nutritional counseling.

Our practice emphasizes continuity of care, which allows us to become familiar with our patients' dental health history and give them the "custom-made" attention they need. Carol has been on our dental health team for over 20 years. Tracey began as a dental assistant more than ten years ago, and completed her dental hygiene degree while working here.

Our dental hygienists are able to provide local anesthetic injections for the extra sensitive areas. Oraqix™ is a form of Novocaine which can be utilized and delivers the same degree of numbness as "traditional Novocaine". However, Oraqix does not have to be injected and it can last for only 15-20 minutes at a time.
